Google+ Will Soon Get A Name Change

Bradley Horowitz Says The Google Plus Name Will Be Dropped & Will Simply “Be Google”

Google is up to some changes. Until now, many of Google’s services have been very separate, each going their own way and becoming their own animals. YouTube, Gmail, Picasa, and even Google+ have been their own products on a certain level. Google is working on changing all of that which will include a name change for Google Plus.

Google+ will lose its name and will become all that Google is and will tie into everything in Google. Google VP of products Bradley Horowitz explains it this way:
"Until now, every single Google property acted like a separate company. Due to the way we grew, through various acquisitions and the fierce independence of each division within Google, each product sort of veered off in its own direction.
But Google+ is Google itself. We’re extending it across all that we do—search, ads, Chrome, Android, Maps, YouTube—so that each of those services contributes to our understanding of who you are."
How this will all play out, we’re not really sure. Google’s up to something here and all we can do is watch to see what it is.
